Position Requirements

LIFE GROUP TEACHER:
The Life Group teacher is responsible for preparing and presenting interactive Bible study sessions. The teacher is to lead Bible study that focuses on teaching people how to handle the Scriptures for themselves. The teacher and Director work as a team in making sure the Life Group is functioning completely.

•    Attend Leadership Meetings as scheduled
•    Develop a lesson each week that communicates the Bible message in a way that involves
      the individual class members in the process. This strategy should also include ways to
      guide members of the class to learn how to use the Scriptures for themselves.
•    Encourage, affirm, and communicate regularly with the class Director to stay in touch
      with the happenings of the class.
•    Work to develop an assistant teacher who can substitute teach when the primary teacher
      is out.
•    Inform the Director when absent and plan as far in advance as possible. The Teacher
      should see if the assistant teacher or other qualified substitute can teach, before calling
      his Adult Minister.
•    Begin and end sessions on time.
•    Be responsible for the spiritual welfare of the class.
•    Your responsibility is to create community. It is to pastor a microcosm of the church.
      That is what a small group is--a church in miniature.
•    A Teacher shepherds a class.

LIFE GROUP DIRECTOR/CO-DIRECTOR:
A Life Group Director and Co-Director provide care, fellowship, discipleship and ministry involvement opportunities for a Life Group Class.  Directors organize a class on Sunday morning and encourage members to build community with one another, the church, and their surrounding world.

•    Weekend Time Requirement: Arrives no later than 15 minutes prior to Life Group hour
•    Study/Prep Requirement: None (Receives periodic emails from age group minister.)
•    Hours Available: Sunday Morning 8:15, 9:30, or 11:00

LIFE GROUP GROWTH COORDINATOR:
Responsible for making sure accurate records are kept each week. All Life Group members should be counted, guests registered, and information on guests given to the appropriate members for follow up. Growth Coordinators enlist Hosts/Hostesses to greet members and guests outside the doorways of each Life Group room. Host and Hostesses should help them fill out a nametag and registration form, introduce them to the Life Group, sit with them during the Life Group, and assist them in attending worship or locating their children.

CARE MINISTRY COORDINATOR:
Responsible for coordinating a comprehensive care ministry to members and guests of the Life Group. The Care Ministry should include cards/notes/phone calls/visits/meals to members struggling with illness/job loss/transitions which meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the Life Group. They work closely with the prayer coordinator and Life Group secretary to inform the Life Group Director of any class concerns.

•    Weekend Time Requirement: Arrives no later than 15 minutes prior to Life Group hour

MEN’S MINISTRY COORDINATOR:
Responsible for coordinating, promoting, and building spiritual growth and fellowship opportunities for the men associated with their Life Group. They also encourage enthusiasm for church-wide Men’s Ministry events and projects, such as the Sportsmen’s Feast, Men’s Breakfasts, Men’s Ministry projects, and Men’s Retreats. Works with the Men’s Minister to promote men’s involvement in ministry opportunities through the Life Group system.

•    Commitment: Rotational
•    Weekend Time Requirement: Actively involved in Life Group and Church life.
•    Study/Prep Requirement: None (Receives periodic emails from Life Group Director
      and Men’s Minister.)
•    Hours Available: Sunday Morning 8:15, 9:30, or 11:00

WOMEN’S MINISTRY COORDINATOR:
Responsible for coordinating, promoting, and building spiritual growth and fellowship opportunities for the women associated with their Life Group. They keep the ladies in the Life Group informed, motivated, and enlisted in upcoming church-wide special events for women, weekly Bible studies, and fellowship opportunities. Works closely with the Women’s Minister.

•    Weekend Time Requirement: Actively involved in Life Group and Church life.
•    Study/Prep Requirement: None (Receives periodic emails from Women’s Minister and

MISSIONS/MINISTRY COORDINATOR:
Guides class members in the diagnosis of their giftedness, abilities, and personal style so they may locate where they can serve within their Life Group, the church, or the community. Helps individuals navigate through the numerous ministry opportunities by utilizing the Volunteer Center as a resource. They aide in the recruitment, planning, and coordinating of members as they participate in Life Group Ministry/Mission projects. Each Life Group should have a Metro, National, and International Ministry project in order to serve others and continue to provide ministry beyond the Life Group. This individual works closely with the Missions Minister and Life Group Director to organize, enlist, and involve Life Group participation in these varied mission opportunities.

PRAYER COORDINATOR:
Responsible for keeping the prayer needs of the Life Group and church before the Life Group members. This could involve a prayer-request sheet or developing a prayer phone chain when needs arise during the week, etc. The Prayer Coordinator should recruit a team of prayer warriors to pray for needs in the Life Group.

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER:
Responsible to set up and maintain a CLOSED Life Group Facebook Page with a link to the Cottonwood Creek Website and Cottonwood Creek Facebook Page. Life Group Facebook pages are used to share prayer requests, Life Group updates, fellowship events, mission opportunities, etc. and must be used to encourage and edify Life Group members. This individual works closely with their age group minister to create and maintain the Facebook account.
