Haiti Relief

Haiti Earthquake Relief

Cottonwood Creek will be working with three organizations to help provide relief to the affected people of Haiti.  We will be working through:

Global Aid Network is the same organization that we worked with for "The Gift" weekend in November of 2009 where we packed 146,000  packages of food for starving children in Zimbabwe.  Cottonwood Creek member Scott Hendrix is Vice-President of Relief and Development for GAIN and is already working to provide relief.  He has identified and deployed many containers of food to be delivered to Haiti as soon as its port opens.  GAIN leadership is currently trying to get into Haiti to provide field coordination.  GAIN is working in partnership with Campus Crusade’s National Director in Haiti and their network of ministry partners in Haiti, including 75 churches, to help the needy.  GAIN is on the ground in Haiti and has over a million meals of food that will be distributed.

Samaritan's Purse is the organization that we work with for Operation Christmas Child.  This is the group that is led by Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham.  This past Christmas season CCBC packed and sent 2262 Christmas boxes to impoverished children, along with the gospel, with Samaritan's Purse.  Samaritan’s Purse is responding to the earthquake that devastated Haiti by providing critically needed assistance, including water, temporary shelter, blankets, hygiene kits, medical aid, and other essentials.

The International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention currently has people on the ground in Haiti.  Please pray for the well-being of these pastors, missionaries, and seminary students.  They will be on the front lines of ministry during this catastrophe.  The IMB will be continually sending in resources to help meet the multitude of needs.

How Can I Help?

Right now, the best way to help is to give to "Missions" at Cottonwood Creek.  The church will be funding the above ministries with your donations.  Click here and select 'Haiti Relief' as the purpose of the gift and the church office will get it to qualified Haitian relief efforts immediately.

Also, this Sunday, you can give by making a note on your offering check stating 'HAITI'.
