About the Academy Director
John Darling joined Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church in January 2008 and is currently serving as Director for the Academy of Worship and Arts, as well as Music Director in the Worship and Arts Ministry. Graduating Summa Cum Laude from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1995, he earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree with an emphasis in voice and trumpet. Private instruction experience includes public school systems to children of all ages and a private conservatory to both children and adults ranging from 5 to 65 years of age.
During his college days in Lufkin, Texas, John began his experience in leading worship. Since that first beginning, John has directed and produced several Easter and Christmas dramatic musicals, as an outreach to the community, which he served. In addition to leading worship, he has a heart for teaching and encouraging those who have a desire to learn. With this passion and love for Christ, John's vision and desire is to mentor and teach students of all ages as they worship God through the study of music and arts.
